OneDrive created a memory for you: On This Day albums If you use OneDrive on Windows 10 or Windows 11, you might get a daily notification urging you to “Look back at your memories” and displaying a picture you took on the same day, sometime in the past. Suppose you click or tap the “View all memories” button in this notification. In that case, your default web browser loads the OneDrive website, where you see your newly generated “On this day” album, similar to the screenshot below.
What is OneDrive? OneDrive is Microsoft’s storage service for hosting files in the cloud. It is available for free to all the owners of a Microsoft account. OneDrive offers you a simple way to store, sync, and share your files. Windows 10 uses OneDrive also to synchronize system settings, visual customizations, themes, app settings, and even Microsoft Edge’s tabs, browsing history, and saved passwords. You can access the files stored in your OneDrive directly from a web browser, straight from Windows 10, or a OneDrive app on your PC or device.

The testing procedure We created four virtual machines: one with Windows 10, one with Windows 8.1, one with Windows 7, and one with Windows XP Service Pack 3.
